Meet Our CIP Bloomington Team

CIP Bloomington has an experienced, professional staff with strong educational backgrounds and solid experience working with young adults on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, and with related Learning Differences. CIP staff work as an interdisciplinary team to support each student in pursuing their goals and dreams.

Jacob Wheeler, M.S.

Jacob Wheeler has worked in the fields of special education and youth sports for over a decade combined in the Bloomington community in public and private schools and for the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department.

Lily Sears, B.A.

Student Advisor

Since graduating from Gonzaga University, Washington, with a double major in Classics and Philosophy, Lily Sears has worked for over seven years with underserved and neurodiverse people.

Desiree Branaman, M.P.A.

Office Manager

Desiree Branaman has worked in the field of program administration for autism and other learning differences for the past eight years and has a Master’s in Public Affairs (MPA) from Indiana University. Desiree started her career at the State of Indiana’s developmental disabilities office as a first contact for families seeking State Medicaid waiver services.

Edward Roe, M.A., M.B.A.

Program Director

Ed has worked in K-12 Public Education for the past two decades as a teacher, administrator, and college/career director. In these roles, he found his passion for youth advocacy and best classroom practices in working with teens and young adults.

Jodi Drury, Ph.D.

Director of Curriculum and Training

Jodi has worked in the field of special education for over 20 years as a K-12 teacher and administrator, and as an adjunct professor at local universities and colleges.

Belinda Carreno, MBA

National Enrollment Specialist

Belinda is a higher education advocate. She has worked as a College Advisor for more than a decade. Her ability to connect with a diverse group of people, along with her extensive work ethic have contributed to her career success.

Michael McManmon, Ed.D.

Founder

Michael McManmon, Ed.D. founded the College Internship Program (CIP) in 1984. He received a B.A. in English from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Maryland, a Masters in Counseling from Shippensburg University, a Masters in Human Development from the University of Kansas (through a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health), and a Doctorate in Special Education from the University of Nevada.

John Loveland, M.S.W.

Career Coordinator

John is presently the Career Coordinator at the College Internship Program (CIP) in Bloomington, IN, where he teaches and coaches neurodiverse students in job seeking, attainment, and success leading to independent living. He has worked in the field of autism since August of 2000 after careers in Education as a high school English and Careers Teacher and in Social Work.

Michele Ramsay, Ed.D.

Director of Program Operations

Dr. Michele Ramsay is a highly passionate and dedicated professional supporting divergent learners as they transition into adulthood. With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Teaching, she has dedicated over 25 years to empowering students and advocating for their educational needs.

Dan McManmon, President

President

Dan McManmon grew up in western Massachusetts, alongside four sisters, six foster brothers, and an adopted brother. His father, Michael McManmon, founded CIP in 1984 and was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome later in life. Dan’s upbringing profoundly shaped his understanding and empathy for those with Autism, ADHD, and related learning differences.

Kevin Broeckling, Ed.D.

National Admissions Director

Dr. Kevin Broeckling has been a higher education administrator focusing on student services, enrollment, and leadership during his more than 20-year career. He believes that education can change lives and has enjoyed helping young people access and complete degrees in higher education.

Amber Holiday, M.S.W, L.S.W

Therapist

Amber Holiday has worked in the field of social services for the past 8 years. Amber began her career working in youth development and advocacy in 2016 upon obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana University.

Our dedicated gaming lounge serves as a hub for social interaction, offering a space for students to connect and unwind. Additionally, we organize a variety of engaging activities throughout the week, blending student-led initiatives with CIP-organized events.

From scheduled social outings like yoga, swimming, and hiking to exploring local fairs and festivals, students have ample opportunities to expand their social horizons. Indiana University further enriches the experience with a plethora of student-led clubs, ranging from gaming and cycling to chess and student government, providing diverse avenues for students to find their tribe and cultivate valuable social connections.

CIP Bloomington has modern furnished two-bedroom apartments, fostering independent living skills and promoting social skills development for individuals with autism. Conveniently situated directly above CIP’s Center, students enjoy easy access to all that Downtown Bloomington has to offer.

Our ideal location allows students to immerse themselves in the vibrant community, with Indiana University, entertainment venues, banks, restaurants, parks, and shopping destinations just steps away. This proximity not only encourages independence but also provides ample opportunities for students to practice essential life skills in real-world settings.
