Ryan has seven years of experience in education, having served as an assessment coordinator, mathematics educator, and youth instructor. As an assessment coordinator in higher education, Ryan played a pivotal role in developing program learning outcomes for diverse learners and monitoring student achievement data, contributing significantly to securing WASC accreditation. He also worked closely with students, many with learning differences, in a variety of classroom settings. As a youth instructor in a trade program, Ryan taught practical trade skills to students such as welding, CAD programming, and woodworking. Additionally, he taught secondary-level mathematics and was instrumental in the development of an International Baccalaureate-accredited high school in Signal Hill in 2023, fostering an inclusive environment that embraced students from all backgrounds.
In his role as a student advisor at CIP, Ryan supports students with managing budgets, setting and tracking self-assessment goals, and assisting them through person-centered plans. Ryan holds two undergraduate degrees: one in Communications from San Francisco State University and another in Educational Studies in Secondary Mathematics Education from Western Governors University.
When Ryan is not helping students achieve their dreams, you can find him playing ice hockey in sunny southern California or spending time with family and friends.
