Matthew Amaya, B.A.

Matthew has worked in the field of Student Advising since 2023. He previously found success working for the Bob Murphy Access Center at California State University, Long Beach, where he specialized in providing personalized, one-on-one counseling to autistic students. In this role, he was instrumental in helping students develop tangible goals and fostering greater independence across a range of areas, including academic success, career development, and interpersonal skills.

As a Student Advisor at CIP, Matthew helps foster independence among young adults by assisting them with planning and maintaining a budget, time management, navigating higher education, and creating person-centered plans. Matthew has earned his B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.

When he’s not working with students, you can find him spending time with family or going on a spontaneous adventure around Southern California with his friends.
