Karen Sok, B.S.

Karen believes that every student possesses unique strengths waiting to be unlocked, and she is dedicated to helping them chart their own path toward self-reliance. Guided by a core joy in seeing students recognize their own potential, her favorite part of working at CIP is watching the moment a student gains true self-confidence. With a strong background in child and young adult development, Karen approaches each individual with the understanding that learning is a lifelong journey shaped by where a student has been and where they aspire to go.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and brings a wealth of hands-on expertise to the team. Joining the CIP community in 2020, she integrates over 15 years of career experience in education and coaching—including six years focused specifically on neurodivergent young adults. Karen has honed an approach centered on active listening, patience, and practical skill-building. Whether assisting students with academic organization, strengthening executive function, or guiding them through real-world community experiences, she creates an encouraging environment where students feel safe to try new strategies and view setbacks as valuable learning opportunities.

As a Student Support Specialist, Karen works side-by-side with CIP students, staff, and families to foster personal growth and campus connection. She is passionate about helping students explore their academic interests, develop essential daily living skills, and cultivate the self-awareness needed to advocate for themselves both in and out of the classroom.

Beyond her work at CIP, Karen prioritizes personal reflection, mental wellness, and spending time with the people she loves. She stays grounded through nature and gardening, enjoys sharing a good laugh with close friends, and loves unwinding with a compelling audiobook.
