Kayla has worked in the field of Special Education (primarily communicative disorders), for nearly a decade. She began her career at CIP in 2016 and used her education and experience to support a variety of departments at CIP Long Beach. Kayla recently moved to Bloomington, Indiana to step in as the Interim Assistant Program Director.
As Interim Assistant Program Director at CIP Bloomington, Kayla has created strategies with staff to support students reach their goals; with positive long lasting outcomes. She has implemented and streamlined services to eliminate barriers for individuals with learning differences by using her education in communicative disorders and experience in special education. Kayla graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelors degree in Communicative Disorders for Speech Language Pathology. Kayla is now exploring graduate programs for a Masters in Operations Management to strengthen her skills in leadership and program development.
When Kayla is not working with students, families and staff; you can find her paddle boarding on a river, lake, bay or ocean. She enjoys catching up with family and friends, rollerskating, practicing yoga, coordinating events and home decor.
