Giselle has worked with neurodiverse individuals in higher education since 2022, previously as an Academic and Independent Living Skills Coach and now as a Student Support Specialist. She has found success working with students in identifying and navigating barriers within academic, social, career, and independent domains. She relies on fostering an approachable, compassionate, and mindful environment to promote awareness in all her interactions and student success.
As a Student Support Specialist at CIP, Giselle facilitates support in understanding social aspects and identifying personal social goals. She strengthens student confidence and engagement within their communities and social networks. Giselle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, East Bay in Hayward, CA. Within her community, she is an alumnus of Sigma Omega Nu Latina Interest Sorority, Inc., and 10,000 Degrees. During her undergrad, she hosted philanthropic events, cultural programming, and leadership development activities. As well as becoming familiar with college pathways, student retention strategies, and career readiness. She is eager to broaden her horizons, collaborating with colleagues and building rapport with students.
In her personal time, you can find her rewatching the Harry Potter film series or in the Harry Potter section at Barnes and Noble.
