What Students Learn and Experience

Every session pairs hands-on workshops with real-world practice (see our Summer@CIP 2026 In Review recap). Topics include:

  • Executive functioning and goal setting
  • Independent living skills, budgeting, and nutrition
  • Building friendships, social skills, and communication
  • Career exploration and workplace skills
  • Social media safety
  • Volunteering and community engagement

Many days end with “Cherry and Pit,” a favorite tradition where each student shares the best part of the day and one challenge. It’s a way to practice reflection while building trust with new friends. At closing ceremonies, students present their Person Centered Plans and take home a curriculum binder to keep building on what they learned.
