Jane

After graduating from high school, Jane attended a local community college in New York where she enrolled in a variety of general education courses and enjoyed playing on the school’s tennis team.

After attending college for two years, Jane decided to attend CIP where she could receive important life skills support while continuing to take college classes part time.

While attending CIP, Jane held internships at the Lee Youth Association and at St. Paul’s, in Stockbridge, MA. She also worked part time at a family-owned day care and a family vineyard where she handled mailings and events for their wine club. Jane’s special interests include swimming, baking, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.

Jane believes CIP will always be special to her because she had an “amazing and incredible” experience, learned life skills and met people that are still her friends. Thanks to support from CIP staff, Jane was able to obtain a certificate in early childhood education. Jane attended CIP for four years.

When asked for advice for prospective students, Jane commented: “CIP is the best thing you can do for yourself where you will get the support you need and learn how to be independent and have a good future.”

Regarding her long term goals Jane would like to move out of her hometown, travel to Europe with her husband, and start a family.
