Amber Holiday has worked in the field of social services for the past 8 years. Amber began her career working in youth development and advocacy in 2016 upon obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Amber has since built experience working with different disenfranchised populations as a recovery and rehabilitation specialist. Amber completed her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2022 and is a state licensed social worker. Mostly recently, Amber has been working as a primary therapist in addiction treatment and recovery for the past 3 years. In this position Amber strove to provide quality and comprehensive psychological therapy at the individual and group levels.
As a therapist at CIP, Amber works with students to develop individualized treatment plans to identify measurable goals and objectives for overall life improvement. Amber helps students navigate triggers for anxiety and depression during this transitional phase in their lives. Amber utilizes motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques to help the students cope with emotional distress, build self awareness, and achieve success.
Outside of work Amber enjoys taking advantage of community events such as attending the farmer’s market, art and cultural fairs, and listening to live music. For Amber, self-care looks like spending time in nature, exercising, reading a good science fiction novel, and cuddling with her cat Ziggy Stardust.
