Jay Lopez, M.F.A.

Jay Lopez has worked in the field of autism for two years as the life skills coordinator. He previously found success working with young adults on the autism spectrum by being an advocate and creating a program to provide workforce opportunities in the field of dance. His Autism Works Program helped young adults on the autism spectrum obtain paid internships at Jacob’s Pillow, a prestigious dance institution, in various departments, including stage production, marketing, facilities, and artist services.

As a life skills coordinator at CIP, Jay helps students advance to their goal of becoming responsible and self-sufficient adults. He leads his department and provides the techniques and strategies for establishing consistent habits, managing an apartment, and developing menu planning, grocery shopping, and cooking skills.

When he’s not working with students on developing their daily routines, you can find him going on a run, supporting and producing dance productions, and learning a new skill.
