Elijah Mertinooke

Eli has previously worked in the field of special education as a paraprofessional, supporting students with a variety of diverse needs. He finds great purpose in fostering relationships, providing meaningful growth opportunities, and helping students build self-efficacy through meaningful action.

As a life skills coach at CIP, Eli is dedicated to providing students with practical experiences that foster and sustain essential skills for independent living and community engagement. This is achieved through the implementation of various life skills modules, with differentiation, universal design for learning, and explicit modeling being key pedagogical foundations for his practice.

Eli is an active volunteer in the mental health and recovery space, doing community outreach in different spaces throughout the Berkshires in his own time. When not at work or volunteering, Eli is a writer and poet who participates in local events and is very passionate about the craft.
