This year, the Student Senate and CIP staff had a Halloween potluck lunch. However, it wasn’t just a party; we had a costume contest. Everyone, including staff, dressed up and brought their own spooky Halloween foods as well. Even Franklin, our Wellness Coordinator’s dog, was dressed up in costume!
The costume contest was very interesting especially since I got to see what crazy, fun ideas people came up with for their costumes. Joan Williamson, Program Director, won the prize for the best staff costume. She was dressed up as a clown complete with big, funny clown shoes. The runner-up winner in this category was Jennifer Kolarik, Career Coordinator, who was dressed as a flapper.
The winner of the best student costume was Rebecca Ganz who was dressed as Maid Marian from “Robin Hood”. She wore a head-veil she had made by hand. The runner-up was none other than yours truly as a dead Hawaiian tourist.
There were some pretty cool costumes, but of course, there had to be one top winner out of all the costumes. The best costume award went to Ryan Therriault, Academic Coordinator, who was dressed as the evil queen from “Sleeping Beauty”.
Getting to dress up for Halloween and being part of the party made this another of my favorite CIP moments.
