Lauren has worked in the field of public education since 2015 as a tutor, guest teacher, high school English teacher, trainer, and instructional designer. She previously found success in training teachers on mastery-based pedagogy, LMS technology, and best practices for digital accessibility.
As a Life Skills Coordinator at CIP, Lauren helps students gain independent living skills by leading culinary courses, providing direct instruction on cleaning and organization strategies, and reinforcing executive functioning skills. Lauren has earned her M.S.Ed in Curriculum and Instructional Design with an emphasis on Educational Technology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Lauren also holds active certifications from Youth Mental Health First Aid, the Modern Classrooms Project Mentorship Program, and the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide.
When she’s not leading the Life Skills team, you can find her reading, embroidering, cooking vegetarian dishes, or enjoying Monroe Lake with friends.
