Karla Olvera, B.A.

Karla Olvera has worked in the field of education for six years as a history teacher in middle and high school settings. She previously found success working overseas teaching at international schools in Saudi Arabia before returning to the United States where she worked at a Charter School in Austin, Texas.

As an Academic Coach at CIP, Karla supports students with their academic, life, and wellness goals by working with them individually and in a group setting. She assists students on their journey to independence and interdependence by providing student-centered support, specifically through her involvement in community outings, Executive Function modules, and individual academic guidance. Karla has earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside. She also received a TEFL certificate from The International TEFL Academy in 2017.

When she is not helping students on their academic goals, you can find Karla outside enjoying the sun on a hike or at the beach. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her two adorable pets (a dog named Texas and a Cat named Leo).
