Julie Gabitzsch, B.A.

Julie has worked in the community of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities for over 20 years. Julie has worked in many areas of support services for adults with disabilities including supported employment, sensory integration, independent living and advocacy services.

Most recently, Julie served as Work Program Director for SustainAbility Recycling in Colorado, an innovative supported employment program that includes on the job training with service to the community. While serving as the Director for the Electronic Waste Program, SustainAbility Recycling won regional awards for their contributions to the community.

As the Life Skills Coordinator at CIP, Julie helps our CIP students gain essential skills for managing daily tasks to help gain independence and move forward in life. By focusing on details of everyday life as well as living cooperatively and responsibly, students learn the essentials of independent living. Julie has received her bachelors in English from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

When Julie is not attending to her duties, you can find her hiking, running, paddle boarding and traveling with her family and dogs.
