Christie joined CIP in 2021 as an Academic Coach. She is a first generation college student who has a background in Science with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She is currently pursuing additional education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to earn a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a Nutrition concentration.
Christie has past leadership experience as a Senior Orientation Leader, Campus Ambassador, Student Enrollment Assistant, and a Biological Sciences Instructional Assistant. The multiple leadership roles that she held have allowed her to find joy in connecting students to resources and support services, while helping them build a strong and supportive community around them.
As an Academic Coach at CIP, Christie strives to help students reach their potential in any field by helping them pave a path for their bright future ahead because she truly enjoys advocating and teaching students and families about their future goals and plans through guidance and support.
When she’s not at CIP, you can find her experimenting in her kitchen by cooking new and nutritious recipes of various cuisines, baking warm desserts, and spending time with her family, while exploring nature. Her curious mind always keeps wanting to try to new things and being adventurous! Most importantly, she believes that a smile a day keeps the doctors away!
