Karen started at the College Internship Program as a volunteer in January 2016 and has since joined the staff as a Job Coach in the Fall of 2017.
Karen graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a BA in Psychology and Spanish in 1985. She went on to graduate school at Hunter College School of Social Work in NY and received her MSW in 1987. Karen has extensive experience with counseling and crisis intervention, through her work on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY and on the Pediatric Intensive Unit at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA from 1986-1992. After taking time off to raise her children, Karen more recently volunteered providing supportive visits to hospice patients through the Paw Pals Program at Vitas Hospice from 2012 through 2015.
During her free time, Karen enjoys exercising, yoga, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
