The College Internship Program is sponsoring “Thinking Positive About The Future”, a free evening event in Chicago, IL on April 7, 2016 featuring a panel of experts who work with young adults who have been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and other learning differences. The event will be held from 6pm – 8:30 pm at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel and is free to attend.
“Thinking Positive About the Future” was created as a national initiative of the College Internship Program (CIP) to share expertise and advice on transition-related topics for parents and professionals who work with students with learning differences. Since 2012, thousands have attended their events, which have been held in major metropolitan areas,including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Speakers for the upcoming event include Dr. Michael McManmon, founder of CIP; Genevieve Thornton, PsyD, founder of SociAbility; Marc Lazar, MS, Specialist at Aspiritech; Jamie Goodman, LPC, an independent educational consultant at The Aspire Group; and David S. Geslak, BS, founder ofAutism Workforce. Each panelist will provide a brief presentation on their area of expertise, followed by time at the end for questions from the audience.
CIP sponsors events in cities around the US as a vehicle to provide advice from experts in the Autism and learning difference community. Past panelists include Matt Asner, Director of Corporate Development at Speaks, Alex Plank, creator of Wrong Planet, Susan Moreno, Founder of MAAP Services,and Autism consultant Brian R. King.
