Brevard Community College held its annual Disability Awareness Day on October 27th at the Melbourne campus and Brevard Center students were there to help make this event, sponsored by the Office for Students with Disabilities, successful. Dodge volunteered to help set up and Taylor worked with Stephanie Brown, Admissions Coordinator, at the CIP information table. Dave and Charlie displayed a painting and photographs at the art show.
Students and Staff took part in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising money to fund research. Thanks to Keri Schechinger, Social Thinking Instructor, for her hard work on this project.
The Brevard Center is looking forward to Parent Weekend in November which will feature a presentation on Assessment and Intervention for Executive Function Difficulties by Dr. George McCloskey, a Professor and Director of School Psychology Research at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. All proceeds from this event benefit the Student Educational Development Fund (SEDF), a non-profit providing professional training and development as well as meeting the financial needs of young adults with Asperger’s and Learning Differences.
