By Janet Hrezo, CIP Brevard Center Staff
A new semester at the Brevard Center has just begun and we’re off to a roaring start. As the political season heats up across the country, Brevard Center students cast their ballots on August 25th for nominees to the CIP Student Senate.
Congratulations to Andrew M., Dodge, Jay, Ross, Rick, Dane, Zach and Moultrie. Campaign posters are popping up everywhere and nominees are preparing speeches to be delivered on September 8th with the final vote coming on September 15th.
Students and staff are also getting ready to put on our walking shoes as we prepare for Walk Now for Autism on November 13th.
The walk is a family friendly event that raises money for research to find vital answers about autism. Ashley Titone, who raised over $2000 last year, will chair the CIP Team. For more information about the walk, go to www.walknowforautismspeaks.org or email email@example.com.
We hope you will think about joining us at the walk, participating in another walk near you, or sponsoring a CIP team member by making a donation. We’ll let you know more details about the team and our fund-raising as it happens.
Check out next month’s newsletter for the results of Student Senate.
