Since it’s start in 1984, the College Internship Program has developed into six centers nationally. Each location has its own unique set of attributes, but all share the common themes of dedicated staff and a supportive community.
Through the development of a curriculum specifically for Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD, and Learning Differences and by providing support through advisors, mentors, tutors and liaisons, CIP has created an all-encompassing program which expands the foundation on which a happy and productive lives can be built.
How does CIP stay open to feedback, receptive to change and continue to evolve?
- Mentoring a culture of learning and involving the students, parents, community members and professionals in the running of the centers
- Accepting feedback as neutral and using the donkey rule!
- Promoting healthy relationships, strong role models and a community that accepts all types of Learning Differences
