Patricia Boissevain, also known as Trish, joined CIP Berkshire’s Arts Program in 2015. She is the manager of CIP’s Good Purpose Gallery and is thrilled to be teaching art classes for CIP students in the gallery itself. Before moving to Stockbridge in 2012, Trish lived in Maine and was the manager of a fine art gallery, the Bayview Gallery, in Brunswick for over five years.
Trish has spent her whole life involved with the arts, not only in administrative positions but as an artist and art educator. She is a mixed media artist and Expressive Arts Facilitator specializing in workshops that emphasize strengthening a sense of self through exploration, creativity, and playfulness. Patricia’s Expressive Arts Workshops are a culmination of her Art Therapy education, her personal healing journey through creative pathways, and her deep-rooted belief that creative expression fosters wellness, insight, and connection to others.
While in Maine, Trish was closely involved with the Brunswick and Portland communities. She was the volunteer Chair of the Annual Family Art Festival Committee in the summer of 2012. Before 2012, she was part of the Annual Family Art Festival every year as an art workshop leader.
Before working for Bayview Gallery, Trish was a Program Director and Prevention Specialist with the State of Maine. She was able to use her art facilitation skills with high-risk youth and eventually designed and implemented art programs as drug and alcohol prevention modalities.
She was motivated to return to school to get her master’s in Expressive Arts/Art Therapy in order to continue to promote personal expression and spiritual and emotional growth with adults and youth. She graduated from Goddard College in VT in 2006. After graduating, Trish was hired as an artist with the ArtVan, a community outreach mobile art therapy unit in Maine.
Now in Massachusetts, Trish volunteers at Moments House in Pittsfield. For a summer, she was an art teacher on a weekly basis at the Ralph Froio Senior Center in Pittsfield. She spends much of her free time hiking with her dogs, cooking for friends, and teaching art workshops or working on her own artwork in her studio.
