Margery joined the CIP faculty in 2015 as an Academic Coach. A biology major/chemistry minor at Smith College, Margery’s first career was in Biomedical Research at Smith College, University of Connecticut Medical School and, SUNY Stony Brook. She earned Graduate degrees at SUNY Stony Brook in Cellular and Developmental Biology. Her second career was as a high school science teacher for Pittsfield Public Schools, from which she retired in 2012 after 25 years of teaching Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Biology and Earth Science.
Margery is also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for which she sits on the Leadership Committee for the annual Berkshire Central/South Relay for Life event and the Berkshire County Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. She is also a member of the Berkshire Breast Health Team which volunteers for Berkshire Medical Center’s Women’s Imaging Center. She is the recipient of the 2016 Berkshire Medical Center Volunteer Hero Award for my Breast Health community outreach work and the American Cancer Society’s Volunteer of the Year Award in 2009.
Margery loves to read, cook, travel and ballroom dance, especially Latin dances.
