Kathy is a native of Berkshire County who has worked in the field of Human Services for over 25 years. She has worked as a Clinical Case Manager and was involved in all aspects of the student’s treatment working directly with designated clinicians.
Kathy’s previous responsibilities included communication with the student’s guardians, liaison within the agency and with outside agencies, setting up transportation, writing legal documents, co-facilitating skills topic specific groups and ABC therapy groups.
Kathy also held the position of Adventure Based Counselor (ABC) Program Coordinator where she was responsible for developing and initiating programming which consisted of facilitation of therapeutic groups using experiential activities. These activities are structured to help teach social skills, emotional regulation, a sense of wellbeing and confidence.
Kathy led structured experiential activities that are both cooperative and non competitive, that provided opportunities to learn problem solving and decision making skills, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and non verbal), as well as improving confidence and self esteem.
Kathy loves to spend time with her family and friends, it can be sharing a meal or doing an outdoors activity. Her dream is to ride her bike cross country and around Ireland. She is also a snow lover, cross country skiing gets her through the short snowy winter season.
