Staying healthy and happy at work, we all know can be a challenge, but when employees have opportunities to make healthy choices and reduce health risks at the work place the results are happier and more productive employees.
Sitting from 9 to 5 is compared to be similar to the evils of smoking as a health risk. Here are some simple rules to incorporate into your working hours of the day:
1. Take a Break from Your Office
Schedule a time everyday to get up and away from your desk to revitalize you mind. Share lunch with others and include some time for a short bout of exercise. This will get your blood pumping and help to finish the second half of the day.
2. Snack on Healthy Small Portions
Rather than eating late or not eating lunch at all will result in keeping you energy level up and brain and body running optimally. Try snacking on things like nuts, fruits and pretzels.
3. Pack Your Lunch
Working hungry is non-productive. Healthy lunches include protein, fruits and vegetables. Sure it takes 10 min. to pack a lunch but worth it and saves you money.
