By Jodi Pierce, Social Thinking Department Head
At the CIP Brevard Center, we have been making many new changes in the Social Thinking Department. In addition to starting an Equine Therapy program, we have three new members on our Social Thinking Team. The new staff joins Jodi Pierce in providing great opportunities and creative strategies to help our students at the Brevard Center with their Social Thinking skills.
Sancita Sharma is a new Social Thinking Instructor. She was born and raised in New Delhi, India and then moved to Virginia when she was 14 years old. Sanchita attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in clinical psychology at Florida Institute of Technology, while enjoying the Florida beaches and missing Washington, D.C. “Sanchita is great! She is very down to earth and easy to talk to”, said Moultrie, a Brevard Center student.
Lauren Mazur is a new Social Mentor. She is from the small town of LaPorte, Indiana. Lauren attended Ball State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is currently a first year graduate student at Florida Institute of Technology, where she is pursuing her Psy.D. in clinical psychology. In her free time, Lauren enjoys singing, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family. Second year student, Emily, said “I like Lauren! She’s a lot of fun.”
Joseph Cirigliano is also a new Social Mentor. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.
