The culinary classes were a success for the Fall Semester. A variety of healthier meals were prepped and cooked and in some cases, students ventured into trying foods they had never eaten before. Some of the meals prepared were burgers and homemade sweet potato fries, pasta with chicken and panchetta, veggie stir-fry with tofu and quinoa, barbeque chicken pizza with spinach, bacon and carmelized red onions, and pasta with veggies. In one of the classes, David Goldstein, a student taking classes at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, assisted with the class. He did a great job sharing his knowledge with the students and offering his experience to help teach the prepping and cooking skills. Students also had plenty of opportunities to put their social skills to the test as we all ate the meal together as a group once it was prepared. The students put forth a great effort and it was a wonderful learning experience for all.
