I am an intern at the Melbourne Library. My job is mainly to stock the books on shelves. They have to be in numerical order or alphabetical order when they are put out. It’s also important that I check to see if each book is at the correct library branch. The Melbourne Library is a large library and always very busy.
The people I work with at the library are nice. My supervisor is Kathryn, the Volunteer Coordinator. She is very hard-working and has been really helpful in teaching me my job.
I am trying to get job experience and working at the library is an important way for me to learn new job skills and practice my social skills. I am so glad to have this internship.
Two other Brevard students, Peter C. and Taylor B. are also interning at the library. Kathryn Conner, Volunteer Coordinator, is very supportive but also challenges student to extend their skills by taking on new tasks.
