I spent some time at Easter Seals in Palm Bay, Florida as part of Disability Mentoring Day on October 20. Easter Seals helps people with disabilities receive job skills training and aids them with daily living and social skills. They also help with self–advocacy.
I toured the buildings and saw what they do. I met all of the staff and two of the clients. They were very hard working, and they all worked together to make a finished product. When I was there, clients were assembling heart monitors for a major medical corporation, and in return, they received job skills.
I really enjoyed my time at Easter Seals. It gave me the opportunity to learn more about organizations in our community that help clients with disabilities.
