I have the pleasure of teaching a culinary class this summer term at CIP Brevard. I tried to think of a new theme that would be fun and unique for the students. Some of the ideas included “Salad Meals”, “Dinner in 30 minutes or Less” and of course “Dinner on a Dime” for the College student.
These are all interesting ideas, but would the students like it? Then, I decided to create a summer culinary program that not only would be fun but would be practical for them to prepare for future get-togethers. And the theme is…..Potluck around the World!
Each week, we will prepare a dish from a foreign country that can be brought to a potluck. Dishes include: German Potato Salad, Moroccan Tagine, Asian Chicken Salad, Greek Pastitsio, French Crepes, Mexican Bean Salad, Indian Potatoes Madras and Scandinavian Almond Bars.
Each week, I also will be teaching the students facts and trivia about the week’s selected country. I look forward to a delicious summer and I promise to share the best recipes! Bon Apetit!
