Anthony Milla, Residential Coordinator accompanied the students (Dodge Meadows, David Friedland, Sam Kirby, Charlie Nielsen, Khaled Zaatar and Ross Morgan) to Key West for this year’s Spring Break Trip.
They arrived in Key West at 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. After settling in, a few students wanted to explore the island and get something to eat. We took a trip around the perimeter of the island and out of all of the restaurants available David and Charlie decided to eat at T.G.I Fridays!
On Monday, David, Dodge, Sam and Charlie purchased trolley tour tickets and took the trolley for an in depth tour of the island. We learned about the history of Key West and found out that it is the most haunted city in the United States. We all sat down for lunch at Sloppy Joes in old town and listened to some live music while we ate.
After a short break at the hotel we headed back out for dinner at Jimmie Buffet’s Margaritaville beach resort. We spent Tuesday walking around old town and going to the Key West history museum and the Key West Aquarium. After eating lunch at Hog’s Breath Saloon we all headed back to the hotel to spend some time by the pool and relax.
On Wednesday a few of the students headed back downtown to explore and the rest of us headed to Key West’s beautiful man made beach. Thursday morning we took a trip on a catamaran out to a reef to go snorkeling. Because of rough seas we had to stop at a smaller reef closer to the island but we were still able to see a lot of life around the sponge beds. On Friday we packed our suitcases and traveled the six hours back to CIP!
