Brevard Center students and staff united this summer to support a great cause, Project Response. Project Response is an HIV/AIDS service organization dedicated to providing quality case management services, prevention education, and HIV testing.
Over the past two years, Project Response has provided wonderful internship and volunteer opportunities for students such as Drew Hodgen, Zachary Smuckler, and Peter Correnti. In 2010, they received the Brevard Center’s Outstanding Community Internship Sponsor Award.
To help support their families, we held a “Christmas & Hanukah in July” food drive to help stock their food pantry. In addition to collecting non-perishable foods, we also collected school supplies and presents. Chris Hackford, Director of Project Response, joined us on July 7th to speak to staff and students about their mission and thank everyone for their support.
