By Jan Hrezo, Brevard Academic Tutor
Brevard has been working hard for many months to raise funds for this years Autism Walk sponsored by Autism Speaks, the world’s largest autism advocacy organization.
Team CIP “WOW Factor’s” goal was $1,000, which was more than tripled. Talk about over achievers!
The team of 16 students and staff and walked at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex on November 15. Ashley Titone, a Brevard Center student, dazzled everyone by raising $1202 in pledges. How did she do it? “I open my mouth. I talk. I told them what was up and got them to know it was for a great cause” she says. For Ashley, it was an important opportunity to educate people because it gives them the chance to become aware “of other people and what they have to go through”.
Congratulations to the team: Andrew Barbour, Holden Bias, Troy Brewer, Jonathan Jacobson, Brian King, April Levy, Peter Snell, Valerie Stepp, Jarrett Suhr, Ashley Titone, Frankie Vaccarelli, Sharona Sommer, Debra Jacoby, Susan Kirby, Jennifer Kolarik and Kim Tolley.
