Several Bloomington Center students volunteered with Boxcar Books, “Pages to Prisoners”, a special Martin Luther King Day vocational project this past February.
Students worked with other community volunteers selecting letters from individuals incarcerated throughout the country. They then tried to find 2-3 books donated from the library that matched the individual’s requests.
Along with the books, students drafted a short response letter to be included and packaged it all up to be mailed back.
At CIP, students are offered the challenge to see themselves as part of the community. By contributing to the community and helping others students promote personal growth.
