Last week, was the last volleyball match of the season and what a way to end the season! The students all pulled together and displayed a great amount of spirit, cooperation, and teamwork. Their positive attitudes and support of each other through all the games brought them to their ultimate victory.
They won all three games in the match. It was a great way to say goodbye to Liz Gray, Assistant Coach, who was such a great role model on the court. Liz Gray is a CIP alumni student who is now moving on to the University of Connecticut (UCONN). She will be greatly missed by everyone on the volleyball team. Her help was invaluable!
The team all agreed they would do their best to bring Liz a goodbye victory and that they did. This will also mark a break in my time as Coach of the volleyball team as I prepare for the birth of my child in January. I have loved seeing the growth and progress of the students on the team over the last couple of years and I am so glad I have been able to be a part of that.
This year we saw a mix of returning students to the volleyball court as well as a whole new group of students joining us on the court. It was quite a mix of students and I applaud everyone for their efforts in becoming a cohesive team. Last Tuesday, they truly demonstrated they have learned how to work together as team players.
