by Kyle Goldman, Creative Arts Coordinator
For the past few months, students in the Berkshire Visual and Performing Arts Program have been hard at work crafting a unique mural to add to the side of the Berkshire Center building. The original design was dreamed up by llene Spiewak, Berkshire Art Therapist and Teacher. A local business was kind enough to donate over $600 in materials toward the project. Kyle Goldman jumped in to help cut the pieces out of wood and then Ilene and her intrepid art class sanded, primed and painted each individual piece. Judson Wheeler, Berkshire Property Manager, came in with his handy sidekick, Jordan Tuboly to install it at the end of June. It was truly a team effort!
The mural is designed to draw attention and visitors to the connecting alley between the Berkshire Center and the Spectrum Playhouse. If you’re visiting CIP Berkshire, or if you just happen to find yourself in downtown Lee, come check it out!
