On Friday, August 23rd, new students at the Berkshire Center were treated to an intensive workshop on collage with John Lawson. Lawson is currently exhibiting his collage work in the Good Purpose Art gallery (including an amazing beaded piano) and he spent several hours working with students as they created collages descriptive of their personal interests.
Students worked together in teams or individually to create pieces using scrap paper and images from various print media.
The collages showed hobbies, career, and individual choices. It was a great chance to see the new students working together and engaging in yet another aspect of the creative arts.
