CIP (College Internship Program) provides year-round and summer programs to support young adults needing less support in seeking a college education, employment and independent living. Founded in 1984 by licensed psychologist Michael McManmon, the original CIP site, in Berkshire, Massachusetts, is about a three-hour drive north of New York City. CIP also operates programs in Amherst, NY, Bloomington, IN, Brevard, FL and Berkeley and Long Beach, California. Each is near several universities and community colleges.
CIP is a private program, with varying levels of support (and cost) for enrolled students, up to 30 hours a week. Partial scholarships are available. The 2-week summer program is for high school students and graduates who want to preview the CIP experience.Read the full article here.
